China Shipping (North America)

Mission Statement:
China Shipping will offer the most cost effective, flexible containerized multimodal cargo services to all customers with the widest possible market scope, using the latest technology in steamship, locomotive and tractor carriage and supporting hardware and software resources.

China Shipping (North America) Agency Company, Inc. ("CSNA") is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Shipping (Group) Company ("CSG") of Shanghai. CSNA serves as the General Agent throughout the United States for China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. ("CSCL") of Shanghai (SCAC: CHNJ), China Shipping Container Lines (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. ("CSCL (Hong Kong)") (SCAC: CHHK) and other North American shipping concerns of various sister companies.

CSNA is a full service agency responsible for marine operations, intermodal services, container and chassis control, documentation, booking, customer service, sales and pricing representation, and all other functions needed to help customers take full advantage of China Shipping services. CSNA acts as electronic AMS filing agent for all CSG companies, and consults with all industry sectors regarding security, Customs advanced manifest filing and US Homeland Security preparedness issues and practices.

CSNA today employs in excess of 200 people in various locations in the United States, including full service offices in Los Angeles and New Jersey, regional offices and sales offices in Cleveland, Savannah and Seattle. Customer Service for both Import and Export is handled in our National Call Center in Houston, Texas, and our Intermodal Control Center in Lombard, Illinois oversees our extensive stacktrain and local rail services.

CSCL and its wholly owned subsidiary, CSCL (Hong Kong) are specialized companies affiliated with CSG, which engage in container transportation and related services. They provide freight transportation services for customers, including storage, transshipment, customs arrival, manifest filing, intermodal on-carriage, container tracking and a host of other value-added services.

CSCL and CSCL (Hong Kong) together now own or charter over 116 full container vessels with a total of more than 257 thousand TEU space, and operate dozens of domestic coastal routes and routes between China and Japan, Korea, Thailand, Philippine, Indonesia, Australia, Mediterranean Sea, U.S.A., Europe, South America and other destinations. The company network covers main ports of China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia. Near-Sea ocean transportation and domestic coastal transportation call at 11 ports in China, providing fast, safe, and economical transportation for all containerized freight. New-buildings to be delivered throughout 2005 will raise total China Shipping capacity considerably, with 19 ships ranging from 4056 TEU to 8500 TEU coming into the fleets during this year.

China Shipping employs aggressive marketing, extensive intermodal and equipment capabilities and the most flexible vessel deployment strategy in the industry to provide the widest number of choices to customers in all the trades we serve. China Shipping prides itself on offering the most value for the international transportation dollar of all carriers in the trades we serve. Our West Basin Container Terminal ("WBCT") opened in Los Angeles in 2004 to improve capacity and throughput efficiency for both local and intermodal connections to the US interior. WBCT is the first "green terminal" in the USA, with complete shore power facilities, and many of China Shipping's vessels calling there feature "cold ironing" capability to reduce the need for hydrocarbon emissions for ships at berth. Using extensive networks with all Class One railroads in the USA, China Shipping offers more flexible routing and handling choices than any other marine carrier serving the US West Coast.

China Shipping will unveil an internet business portal this year to allow many primary data exchanges with customers and intermodal vendors to be done through the internet at great savings to customers and vendors alike.
