Keith Biondo

As the publisher of Inbound Logistics—a multi-media content platform serving the informational needs of demand-driven enterprises since 1981—Keith’s goal is to provide forward-thinking company managers with the content and support they need to enable the transition to demand-driven enterprises.

Under his leadership, Inbound Logistics helped identify and nurture the subsets of the third-party logistics segment and was the first to provide decision support tools necessary for evaluating 3PL providers. Keith also championed the concept of applying low-cost logistics technology to all aspects of supply chain management, from the systems designed for the largest global multinationals to those designed for SMBs. Early on, Keith recognized the importance of a broader definition of site location and economic development decisions that considered technology infrastructure, pro-business political receptivity and how public-private partnerships impact the health of domestic supply chain operations.

Keith continues to be an advocate for reaching the next generation of enterprise managers through logistics education and training and also tapping the expertise of the U.S. military by hiring vets for logistics, transportation, and supply chain jobs when they leave the service.

This dramatic shift—also known as the “dark factory”—is the ultimate objective of industrial automation: a factory so automated that it requires little or no human presence. Humans need the lights, machines […]

Self-Healing Inventory?

Self-Healing Inventory?

Self-healing inventory is a phrase that is being used more and more these days. It’s a take-off on the concept of a self-healing supply chain, where inventory comes alive and knows where it has to be without you always lending a guiding hand.
